I'm proud to be part of the first family of NC whole hog pit cooked BBQ. Started around 1850 by Skilton Dennis he opened the first commercial barbecue business in the United States in Ayden, North Carolina. Still today Bruce Jones operates the Skylight Inn and Bum and Larry Dennis operate Bum's BBQ restaurant both still in Ayden.
